Corning Future Innovator: Innovative Application

Collaborated in an international innovation competition focused on developing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges. As part of the team behind “OUCH”, an innovative buoy concept designed to detect nuclear waste contamination in ocean waters, I conducted in-depth research and environmental impact analysis to identify feasible detection methods and material applications. Working alongside a product design student, I translated scientific findings into a functional prototype concept utilizing Corning’s ceramic and optical fiber technologies. This project strengthened my capabilities in sustainability research, data-driven analysis, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and innovative problem-solving to address real-world environmental issues.
